Langage AD has secured funding from the European Regional Development Fund to work collaboratively with the ‘ALG-AD’ project—using heat and electricity resources with residual nutrient's produced by the anaerobic digestion process to grow algae for further processing into animal feed and novel products. The ALG-AD project has investment sites for trial algal reactors in Brittany (France), Flanders (Belgium) and at Langage AD (UK), with scope to roll out the technology over the whole of North-West Europe, reducing pollution by excess land-spreading of nutrients and developing sustainable sources of high-protein animal feed.
